Lead Account Manager

Pros

The medical benefits are amazing.

Cons

There are way more Cons than pros for this position. I can only speak for this department, if you see an position that says lead account manager, RUN AWAY! There is no ladder to climb in this position. You will be stuck working for dinosaurs that are set in their way, and will belittle you at any given chance. You are told one thing, and later you will be reprimanded for it. The Sr. Directors (this departments middle management) will constantly talk about the lead AM's behind their back. Seems like a lot of plotting against certain individuals, who are/were proven workers. This department is toxic, and it comes from the top and trickles its way down. Fake leaders, just bosses who point at things, but don't know what they are doing. Most of the Sr. Directors cannot make a simple power point presentation. The leaderships' people skills is slim to none, and is wasted and kissing their boss's butt. "You're so good" . " No you're the best" "No you are" etc. 3 of the 7 AM's have just resigned with more to come. This is the true sign to stay away. All 3 with more than 5 years in the trade/company.

Pros

Friendly employees, fantastic benefits, and great work/life balance. Running and tennis clubs should keep you motivated! No dress code- feel free to wear yoga pants or athletic gear. The work itself was fun and engaging. Mary Moslander is absolutely wonderful and so are most of the higher management.

Cons

It was bought out by a larger company, which is making some unwanted changes to office life.

IT is just a necessary evil

Pros

Coworkers are wonderful. For the most part there is a strong team atmosphere.

Cons

There is no SDLC here; development is done in Prod because there is no Test/Dev system. Sr IT mgmt led the department in the wrong direction and either cannot admit it, or no one is willing to speak up. Most projects are to clean up messes. Corporate mgmt treats IT like a janitorial service - clean up or hide the messes and do whatever it take to make us look good. Structural problems can just be plastered over.
