Pros

- The individuals you meet, take care of, and develop bonds with. - Individuals are thankful and appreciative of staff, unlike other staff and supervisors. - Benefits are good if you opt into them (like 401k). - Decent accrued time-off benefits. - Somewhat easy to pick up extra shifts at other houses. - CEO cares about employees and individuals. Has open door policy with employees. Very humble man. Unfortunately, it's a big company so 1 person can't make a huge difference. - Residential Coordinator is great. - H.R. department employees are professional and understanding, but not enough people in it to truly make a difference. - Benefits Manager is exceptional, understanding of employees' situations, & is very accommodating. - Somewhat higher pay than most other organizations if you have experience and degrees. - Easy to transition to open positions. - No mandatory transitions to other I.R.A.'s and schedules without said employee's approval.

Cons

- Consistently hiring new managers. - Assistant Managers, Residence Managers, Assistant Program Directors DO NOT RESPECT or CARE about D.S.P.'s that keep their houses running. - Constant unbalanced distribution of work tasks to D.S.P.'s. - Unhealthy and unsanitary work environments. - Company loyalty means nothing to supervisors. - Too many troublesome, lying, petty, childish D.S.P.'s hired consistently. Management only cares about having bodies at the residences so as to not get fined by New York State and nothing else. Could care less if they sit around watching T.V. all shift or sleeping on overnights.

Pros

Most individuals and most staff are really nice people.

Cons

You're over worked and under paid. You're physical health doesn't matter to them along as your on time with a doctors note. Benefits are not so good. A lot of miscommunication with management. You're not trained correctly and management lies about training staff correctly. There is no room for growth in the company due to their silly company rules. Management has a lot of favoritism which is why the company is going down now. You'll get in trouble for "socializing" with other staff. It doesn't make sense to report issues to higher ups because they are all friends with one another.
