Terrible place to work

Pros

Some PTO with a lot of fine print.

Cons

This place is terrible. You are totally temporary. This is a temp agency that fills positions for Trader Joe's food distribution warehouses WCDI. They will "end your assignment" at anytime usually right after the holidays. Your days off most likely will NOT be consecutive. If you're not super excited and happy about working there everyday, you're gone. If your lunch break is over or under 30 minutes you receive disciplinary action. Your mom died and your production numbers are down that week? Your gone! I highly discourage ANYONE from considering working for this company. Also @Glassdoor and anyone reading this, any 5 star rating you see for this company was produced from Epic to offset the terrible name they have made for themselves. I could go on and on about how garbage Epic Personnel Partners is.

Pros

Fast hiring process (in house drug screen even though they ran out of test kits, they got more in a few days. In house training video and exam.) I was hired a week after I applied.

Cons

Do not work here. They will end your temporary assignment without notice, reason or explanation, immediately after a major holiday. Everyone I spoke to (all temps) that works for Epic's sole client, WCD, a gigantic, new warehouse in Daytona Beach, FL told me that this company lays off a lot of it's people, as in too many to count. The offer they made me was too good to turn down/ brand new warehouse, better pay, holiday pay, health insurance after 90 days...blah. After working on the last major holiday in, I was notified by cell phone that my assignment was being ended effective immediately for no reason. I felt so crushed I couldn't even finish my dinner. I had only worked there for a few weeks. Reports from my immediate supervisors were excellent. No lateness, no policy violations, and excellent work. Now because I didn't give notice to my last employer, I am unemployed and soon to be homeless. Epic either knew when I'd be let go and declined to say anything or they are the worst at filling positions. Also, the trainers barely speak English. When I complained it to EPIC, they said to go talk to my immediate supervisor which I did. Then, I got the crash-course in how the warehouse is run at 60 MPH from a supervisor who runs two different departments and had to leave so many times during my training that i was on my own for about a week. Trainers leave early every day so there was no one to ask a question to during the end of your shift. On Sundays, you're on your own. No one else in that office place knows anything when you have a question and no one answers their radio when you call them on it. Still, they had no complaints about my work. They just don't care about anyone they hire. They use people like wash rags they throw away after one use. One of the personnel used a racial slur while in the outdoor break area (towards a different race then me) as if i should just go along with it. I walked away from her immediately and reported it (that's probably why I'm unemployed now). I may report her to the EEOC although, I don't know what good it would do now. Hopefully, my review will prevent someone else from experiencing the nightmare I did or EPIC and WCD will change their ways.
