Pros

Epipheo pretty much launched the explainer video industry. It was able to communicate, in a few minutes, what it took Google 45 minutes to say. Google became their first client and the rest was history. Epipheo is full of some of the most fun, friendly, and creative humans you could ever hope to meet. Co-worker culture is next-to-none, client work is generally interesting, and it's a pretty casual and trusting atmosphere. You can work from home when you need to, bring your family in for lunch, and dress however you want. Epipheo cares a lot about telling stories which infiltrates, not only the work they do, but the culture they build. The CEO is approachable. For most people, it's the best place they've ever worked.

Cons

For many, it's also the worst place they've ever worked. You can count on an organizational change every three months, which leaves people rarely feeling settled, wondering when the next round of layoffs will be, and questioning whether or not upper management has any clue what they're doing. Most "experiments" either die because lack of follow through or because leadership read a new book about the next new and shiny thing to try. Epipheo is also struggling to shed its reputation of being 'Christian' and 'patriarchal', which comes from the fact that everyone in leadership is a Christian male and tend to hire ex-ministry (ex-Crossroads) people like them. Lack of diversity has been a huge conversation point for the past year or two.

Pros

Epipheo is loaded with talented artists, creatives, and others that work really hard to create amazing video content- and they have succeeded! Epipheo has a pretty incredible list of clients that have trusted them to tell their story (from the largest orgs in the world to the most impactful not for profits). The talent is through the roof but even more so, the character of the team is top notch. You get to work with people that truly care about one another and do their best to integrate work and life; it can get messy but it is beautiful and good. I found the compensation and growth opportunties well in line with the responsibilties. Lots of great perks like an amazing space, freedom to flourish, good snacks, a weekly lunch, lots of support, and an amazing product.

Cons

The grass is green where we water it. Every org has challenges because humans are employed there along with all the good, bad, and ugly that comes with us. I have respect and admiration for Epipheo's leadership and employees for not being afraid to step into the mess with people by pursuing honor, integration, and meaning. I have seen this come back to bite leadership time and time again yet they continue to trust people and look for the best in each. If you can find this or better elsewhere than go get yours.....but I love and respect the beautiful mess that at times is Epipheo.

Pros

Fun atmosphere, lots of positive people. A lot of talk about mission and values, and lots of transparency around social and interpersonal relationships. Good opportunities to make cool stuff, but you have to look for those opportunities yourself.

Cons

Constant pivots and course-corrections make this a very hard place to stay. It's especially hard if you're a woman, or if you don't share upper management's faith preference. The people in charge are self-taught. That's not a bad thing, but hard to retain people who have outgrown their position, when there is no higher position available. Leadership structure is fairly exclusive and bro-ish. It just means they are likely to hire people that are just like them.
