Working Here is Career Suicide

Pros

No shortage of company drama. If you like feeling a sense of fear for your job on a daily basis, then this company is perfect for you.

Cons

Founders syndrome. Too much power in the hands of people that have no idea what they're doing. Coups forming amongst bitter employees who, in all honesty, should just be fired. At any other company, if you fail at the job you were hired for, you get let go. Here, they just move you to a different role so you can keep failing and talk disrespectfully about employees that are working tirelessly and actually succeeding. Not willing to compete with industry averages in compensation and benefits so there is absolutely no talent or experience on the roster. Company mismanages capital. Lack of training. No vacation time.

Pros

Everyone gets an important sounding title.

Cons

Chronically under-paid staff. There are too many chiefs and not enough Indians here. Everyone gets an inflated title that has little to do with their actual job. I guess that's expected when the name of the place is Equis Capital Management, and we don't actually manage any capital. We're a software platform, not an asset manager. These other reviews, that are suspiciously similar and posted around the same time, say we are treated like family, but I don't understand how that is true when everyone is chronically underpaid. Keep your camping trip, I'd rather have the cash equivalent. There's a bunch of under-qualified, ineffectual, self-important clowns running this place.

Pros

Great place to work. The integrity, talent, ambition, work-ethic, and dedication of the people who work here are top-notch. I even bought stock in the firm. Plus, even though the firm is growing very fast, there’s minimal stress in our workplace, which is pretty rare for a financial firm, and we truly have a family-like atmosphere. Other pros include employee benefits including a great 401k plan, subsidized gym membership, etc.

Cons

The fully stocked kitchen and pantry. This is where the gym membership comes in handy.
