Bonding with equally miserable coworkers

Personality cult run by a few 25-30 year old men who hire their male friends and pay them more than all the female staff. Seriously there are women with multiple degrees and giant workload getting paid $15k less than men of lesser experience or education because they aren't buddies with senior staff. If you raise issues prepare to be intimidated, gaslighted and talked down to. Lack of diversity and transparency in leadership and female senior staff are tokenized to argue there's diversity but have no staff reporting to them . Everyone is fairly unhappy and actively trying to escape.

Great legislative work and dedicated staffers.

Cons

Everything is always "on fire" with an expectation of being on call 24/7. Salary checks were often late due to monetary issues. Salary adjustments promised but not delivered. Board based assumptions of staff moral by the success of fundraising parties.

Senior Leadership Refuses to Address Issues

The organization does incredible work that impacts LGBT+ people. The people who work here are committed to social justice causes.

Cons

The senior leadership refuses to change policies and procedures that promote inequity. The pay gap between managers and associates is problematic. Their solution? Start paying managers a lower salary than previously promoted managers. The pay isn't competitive and doesn't reflect the amount of work people do. The staff has unionized but the organization has pushed back at every step despite being an organization that is fighting for equality.
