Mercer Island is run by bullies

Pros

They offer free lunches at AMI.

Cons

The management at Aljoya Mercer Island bullies their employees. They cannot keep employees because they are rude and disrespectful. They told myself and other staff we are "meaningless" and "worthless" to the residents. I was told my job didn't matter, and I was not part of the team. I was told this by two directors. In addition, there is a significant amount of gossip among the directors and there are cliques. Do not work here if you value yourself. Management pretends to care, but they view employees as scum. I could not go to HR because I was told I would get fired.

Pros

Livable base salary and health benefits, company provides daily lunch, mostly decent co-workers, the relationships formed with residents of the communities and their families are truly exceptional.

Cons

Family owned company, uncomfortable office politics, pittance of a commission structure, dysfunctional, unrealistic expectations, outlandish employee turnover, excessive micro-managing and extremely incompetent people placed in upper management roles.
