Pros

some people are really great to work with, a lot of money for trainings and conferences

Cons

middle management is horrendous and upper management has no clue how to shape the right culture, good people leave non-stop because upper management is unable to make the right decisions.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. I agree that the people here are amazing and we do have a strong focus on associate development. I am sorry to hear about your frustrations with leadership in your area, I would really appreciate the chance to meet and learn more about your concerns. We have spent a lot of time talking to associates so that we can understand and address any concerns and we feel that work is making a difference. It would be great to get your feedback on this. Thank you.

Pros

Work at Home options, 401K, Employee Benefits (aside from the medical insurance rates and no gym membership help), Co-workers are awesome, pay is somewhat fair but not the best, Esurance has a great concept for the direction they are headed as a company, the management and supervisors on the service level are awesome and understanding, as they also are enduring the 'reorganization'.

Cons

Staffing, Attendance Policy, Insurance Rates, Schedules, Morale, Fear of job security, Slow/bugged Systems At one point, I actually loved my job, however, deeper that AllState penetrates into the company, the worse it's getting. Our health insurance rates have increased by over $5000 in the past 2-3 years. Family deductibles are now $4000, Out of Pocket Max $6000. The attendance policy is getting less and less family friendly. Training used to be stellar and now is starting to fizzle. Morale is less than mediocre. Shifts are becoming difficult to maintain. They did major layoffs in May and are now hiring. It feels like it is their way of getting all of the seasoned reps to quit out of fear of job security and maintaining their schedule so they can bring in lower paid reps with more desperation who will work worse hours. A typical day is talking to customers who are disappointed, although there are a few who you can make happy, it's emotionally draining. The systems are slow and make doing daily tasks aggravating. The company is now trying to win the hearts of it's employees with free snacks and swag in a poor attempt to reconcile their failures.

IT Dept management is horrible

Pros

i got an opportunity to learn new technology

Cons

Their managers in IT are horrible to say the least. Nepotism and favoritism has led to many undeserving people promoted to upper management. As a result they don't understand how to manage people and expect people to be brown-nosers. Good developers leave as they don't want to work for a BOSS who does not understand tech nor take responsibility for their failures and point fingers at others. There is a lot of people from Indian (asian) descent and they think that just because their title is manager or director, they can do whatever they want typical INDIAN BABU culture. Worklife balance is not there for developers, you will be called anytime to fix issues. I got regular calls at 2 AM even later. They depend heavily on people waiting for their green cards and abuse these workers as they know that they can’t change jobs easily. Pay is on the lower side of market and bonuses and promotions are only handed over to manager’s pets. The atmosphere is vicious teams work in silos, i saw that a senior manager and her team did not cooperate with another manager in their the delivery of a major initiative, lots of blame game. The company lost huge amount of money and time because of petty politics. They interview you for a certain position and low ball you with a lower position, so never accept a lower position as getting a promotion is very difficult. There is very less room to fail, so people are always trying to blame others. They make everybody sign a dignity pledge but it's funny how managers don't follow the pledge. Threats blame game, and making someone scapegoat is real. Don’t join if you want to work in american culture….
