Employees are constantly burnt out because expectations are high, and they aren't prepared at all to meet them. Management fails to provide any training, support, or guidance, but you're expected to know how to do your job right from the start, and every mistake you make is heavily scrutinized. The salary is pretty terrible, and there aren't many opportunities to raise it since there isn't any room to grow.
