Pros
Federal contracts generally have a solid mission to support.
Cons
Zero loyalty, management does not listen to, trust, or advocate for long-term employees. It’s a decent place to work if you don’t need great insurance and plan to either leave within 1-2 years (common in federal consulting) or brown-nose to get to upper management. I was mostly left alone to do my work, was given accolades for the quality of my work, until one person decided I wasn’t a good fit on my contract after I refused to deliver low-quality work; ECS did nothing to try to keep me on, despite my having trained most of their PMs and being the best-performing member of their team for years. This came after our benefits decreased: fewer PTO days, 0 dedicated sick leave; our insurance went from a great plan to a plan with a deductible that was 400% more than it had been - I was told that I just don’t understand how deductibles work and it was a better plan. So their HR team withers lies because they think everyone else is stupid, or is incompetent.
