Pros

- Flexible working patterns - Good people at hub level - Career progression opportunities are clear

Cons

It's hard to put in to words how much stress this company has caused me since joining. Firstly, as an international therapist, they promised tailored caseloads, extensive mentoring support and much else. However in reality, when you arrive, they inform you that if you attempt to leave the company prior to a certain time, you are indebted to them for up to 15k for all of the "mentoring and support" provided as well as administrative costs. In reality, I received zero clinical support, was given a completely different caseload than I was promised, was pressured in to carrying the most complex participants as an experienced clinician. New strategies and support models were constantly being introduced, which they led us to believe were "person centred". However, from what I can see, every move that is made is for the sole purpose of making more money. When told that advocating for therapy assistant funding was not clinically indicated for some participants, we were informed that this funding had to be advocated for regardless or whether we felt it was required. it even became part of our KPI's. Furthermore, I sat in several meetings and discussions with those higher up. I had explained concerns around new grads not getting enough clinical support in the initial weeks. I was told that "new grads have a degree, they should get on with it. We want them thrown in the deep end". This resulted in high levels of exits and burn out in our hub. There are so many other things I could mention, however, it is just important to note that as an early career clinician, new grad or international therapist. Please DO NOT work for Everyday independence.

We were expecting this review and I would like to respond to it. This review is a result of Everyday Independence not tolerating people that impact negatively on our workplace culture, values and mission. We do regret that this was your experience and how you perceived your time here but we also know that this was not a good match from the beginning as we both failed at not realising this at interview stage. We are deeply committed to a person centered culture and embracing diversity of experience and thought. However, this does not mean getting everything you want at the expense of others and their needs. We were not a match and I am proud of our team for having the courage to act when a values alignment is not met and it was impacting morale and culture.

Toxic Top Level Leadership

Pros

Great team members in local hub

Cons

If I had to rate this company out of 10, it would be in the minuses. The only good thing that came out of working here was the wonderful team members that I worked with daily in the local hub. Don't believe the hype - this company is not a person-centred company by any means. Unless you are firmly entrenched in the “inner circle” you will get nowhere, regardless of how hard you work or how good you are at your job. This company is completely dollar centred – giving little to no pay increases, manipulating people to stay but giving them no incentive to do so and pushing to get the as much of a client’s funding as possible. Management do not seem to be in touch with the real world, constantly shifting goal posts, re-titling roles and not taking any responsibility for the mistakes they make. Any 4 or 5 star reviews you may see on here or Seek are, in my opinion, likely to have been done under instructions from the management or from those in the “inner circle”. The toxic culture is very obvious and backed up by the very large number of exits countrywide – in fact I believe that they cannot recruit enough people to make up for the exits they are currently experiencing. Definitely a company to avoid working for.

Stressful role

Pros

Great team of therapists, a good social environment.

Cons

The case load was massive as a new grad and there was so much variety in participants. I had 68 clients ranging from 4 to 64. All different diagnoses and most were out of scope. The supervision was shared with three other new graduates which meant you only had limited time to speak and get support. If you didn't meet the KPI you got more clients not more support. It was a job that was money driven and not about providing the best care to the people you worked with. I would never recommend this role for a new graduate.
