Pros

I have been with this place for a long time and they did treat us very well for my first two years. They are still fully remote, have great benefits, teams are generally super supportive of people taking time off and having work life balance and some of the best people you will work with. That’s where the pros end…

Cons

The last two years have been absolutely brutal on this place. Bought twice and grew way too fast. It is utter chaos at the top and it shows. Leadership is totally out of touch and it’s starting to impact business. Clients are leaving, can’t compete on pitches versus the larger agencies, and continue to point fingers at everyone but themselves. The financial management is particularly atrocious and clients are starting to take notice. They have done two rounds of layoffs this year, imagine there will be a third. Have lost almost 15% of the workforce at this point. They lowball on salaries and promotional bonuses are a joke. I’d steer clear if you are looking to join at this point, I think evoke is on a downward spiral and will really begin to implode after Q4 2023. Everyone is anxious, on edge, paranoid, afraid to lose their jobs- please go elsewhere; it is a terrible environment to be a part of right now

Disappointing

Pros

WFH policy. Some great people.

Cons

Top down management is suffocating. Experience you have will depend entirely on the team(s) you're on. Managers lack training and maturity. As another said: If you fit the EK mold, you'll do fine. If you question the mold, offer alternative ideas and ways of doing things, or don't click with just the right leaders, you may find yourself outcast, ignored, and disenfranchised. Lots of money and paper being pushed around with very little output on some teams. Advancement opportunities go to the popular. Pay is not the reason you go to EK. Advice for prospective employees: Interview team leaders back before you commit.

Pros

I worked with a few nice people, almost all of whom are no longer there.

Cons

Extremely disorganized company, allowing clients' budgets to evaporate and therefore hundreds of hours of work wasted, leading to employee(s) blamed for client pulling out of project. No...the money ran out and you weren't paying attention, or didn't care. Impossible to get job codes to complete timesheets. Training is promised but poorly delivered. Management is stretched too thin being expected to oversee, train, review, and complete their own workload, but instead of addressing the faulty system with superiors, they direct their frustration at subordinates. The rudeness and condescension I experienced was virtually unparalleled in my career.
