Cons

I have worked with Evo for two years. I was hired with an agreed upon salary. The expectation for me and for all other managers was to meet revenue goals and the hours were not mandated- it was a loose 8/9-5 schedule. I was so impressed with the work life balance as managers were able to leave for kids recitals etc and everyone supported that since we all worked hard and got the job done. Come December 2016 everyone was changed to "overtime eligible managers". It is now mandated to work 9 1/2 hours per day with a 31 minute lunch taken before the 5th hour in order to get the same salary you were hired at. Please note the 9th hour is at 1.5 times your "hourly" rate, so the hours are not divided evenly in terms of pay. You make significantly less on days you only work 8 hours which used to be a normal schedule. The OEM is not even law and many hotels in the comp set don't even know what it is; they are leaving after 8 hours of hard work each day which is how it should be. There is no motivation to finish anything in a timely manner because you feel you should stretch things out just to get your pay you were hired at.I have now taken an involuntary a pay cut since I am unable to work a full 9 1/2 hours each day with an infant at home. Work Life balance has gone completely out the window now that we are all OEMs. Just recently it was announced that we no longer get Labor Day as a paid Holiday or MLK day. Our 7 paid Holidays for managers has now gone to 5. I have never been a manager at any property that did not offer Labor Day as a paid Holiday. Very ironic. I was so excited to be a part of this company when I started two years ago, but I now feel the culture and benefits are not what they used to be. It is depressing.
