Pros

It's a job. Marginally better than no job?

Cons

Toxic company culture. No effort to retain employees. Managed by a shell employment company to protect the actual company from law suits for mismanagement and discrimination based on age, gender, race, etc. I saw literally every bad thing a company can do to an employee happen here.

Pros

- Solid protected technology embedded in routine testing panel. - Good people working hard on the sales force.

Cons

- Funding is not solid long term - two rounds in 2016. - Unlike most medical companies, you will need to provide your own office equipment such as copiers, etc. $40 is available via expenses for office supplies. - Loss of revenue due to coding changes in 2016 seems to have sparked a management "freakout." Pressure to grow exponentially is brought on randomly and without warning and is often delivered with a request to resign or performance improvement plan that gives little chance of success. Exagen has seen roughly 50% (maybe more) turnover in sales team and sales management in the last year or two.

Pros

The test is valid. The line staff are honest and hard working.

Cons

Management is evil, unprofessional, and punitive. It is a pressure cooker here. If you make goal one quarter you will likely not make it for two or three more as they will raise your goal to unreachable levels. Six reps do well here. Everyone else can look forward to making little money on bonus. Base salaries are cheap. The goal of management is to sell the company and run. The line staff are the vehicle towards that goal. Nothing else matters to them. A truly toxic culture. The North Korea of diagnostics / pharma companies. Stay far far away!!!
