Pros

Good financial decisions; credit union is healthy. Former CEO cared deeply about employees and provided opportunities for growth. Employees were allowed to share ideas and make mistakes. Culture was inclusive and accepting. Salaries were ok for Bay Area.

Cons

Weak accountability and little leadership development meant some departments/branches suffered. Budgets were always tight and not necessarily spent on the right things. Needs younger board members with leadership experience. New CEO is harsh and rigid; many leaders have left since he came aboard as CFO. Culture will suffer.

Pros

The Executive Team, especially the CEO, alway try to do the right thing for their team members and Members. Also, Excite is building a lot of professional and personal development programs for the team. It is a great place to grow. The Executive team makes a strong effort to listen to its teams and address their concerns.

Cons

It is sometimes at a disadvantage competing against much larger, better-funded Silicon Valley organizations for talent as a small organization.

Pros

Supportive leadership and a People & Culture team dedicated to member and employee experience. Departmental collaboration is easy and everyone is so helpful. Excite facilitates career development at all levels. They have really done an exceptional job focusing on culture.

Cons

Cubicles are not private, it can get loud in working areas.
