Never ever work here. Ever. Absolutely never leave another job for one here.
Pros
The meager paycheck. Literally, that is it.
Cons
First, here is a list of facts that indicate the work culture at : - Founder Anett Grant coerced her current employees to write the positive reviews of the company on Glassdoor. - Anett has paid off several former employees not to write negative reviews of the company on Glassdoor. - Executive Speaking has 5-8 employees at any given time, but the number of failed hires each year averages 5. - 85% of the senior staff (1+ years of employment) have left in the last 8 months. - More than 10 creative vendors were fired unprofessionally in one year - 0 sick days - you are expected to come to work sick, and if Anett thinks you are sick enough, she will send you home. If you take a sick day, you are required to take it from your meager vacation time. This also means the entire office is constantly sick. - Open Inbox - Anett can and does read your emails and micromanages every decision you make down to the greeting you use. -$0 in benefits, except a $100 pre-tax stipend for health insurance to buy it on the Exchange, no retirement if you work in one business unit, 2 years required before you receive any retirement in the other. - 0 flex time. She requires office hours. She will quickly rescind any flex time agreements once she realizes you can’t be micromanaged. Second, here is a list of Anett’s behaviors that comprise the work culture: - Refusing to hire qualified candidates exclusively because of their body size; hiring under-qualified candidates because of their appearance - Zero tolerance for mistakes, with immediate firing, sometimes a week after starting - Tirades towards employees about their flaws and their perceived failures because of personal issues - Assigning projects and then immediately throwing the deliverables out - Daily or hourly reports some weeks to prove you are being productive - Demanding changes in strategy and then constant undermining of her staff and their strategy - nothing ever changes, but you will be under constant pressure to change - Sabotaging of certain business units to justify poor pay - Undiscussed changes in roles, reneging on salary or bonus negotiations, even after putting it in writing. - Illegal marketing tactics- she skirts the line of legality in her email practices, as she buys lists and send three emails a week to millions of people of have not consented to receiving emails; this is illegal spamming. - Insisting on employees call potential leads 20-30 times a day until they pick up. - Unattainable sales and marketing goals - she expects instant results from even the tiniest changes in marketing or sales plans; she expects instant sales of her expensive programs from one single networking event. - Suggesting that any mistake from an employee should be removed from their paycheck. - Vindictive behavior: she constantly talks about the flaws of her past employees and will never give a good reference. Third, here is a list of things I’ve experienced that reflect the personal culture; Anett: -Insisted I go back to part-time after attending “too many doctor’s appointments” that happened to be scheduled before I went full-time, and then went on a tirade regarding my dedication to the job. -Obsessed about the physical presentation of her female employees. -Commented relentlessly about the size and shape of my body. -Pressured me to wear makeup and straighten my hair. -Suggested how to dress in order to hide the shape of my body. -Effusively praised my weight loss, including telling me that I’m now finally ready to go out in public. -Suggested that I lose 25lbs “for my health” -When I gave my two weeks, she became furious that I might have job searched on company time and told me I was poorly suited my job anyway. Some general thoughts: -Never ever work here. Ever. Absolutely never leave another job for this one. Even if you are desperate for work, do not work here. -I had to spend 2 hours alone every night to decompress from the constant assault on my personality and my work ethic and the constant micromanagement. -As I closed my eyes at night, I felt panic because I knew I had to go to that office again.
