Pros

Great work for survivors when they actually do work with survivors but don't be misled. They help with therapy for survivors and do occasional street outreach in kansas city, but other than that- there's not load being done to support the very people they claim to support Team members are nice They have a history of doing good work Good time off Paid decent for NGO

Cons

The team is falling a part mainly because the main leader is not a safe man. He claims to be, but has proven time and time again that he isn't a good leader. They just had to lay off half the team because of sudden "money issues" even though they had just been given a massive donation months before. And most people who were left working there don't want to be there, but just can't find new work. The environment sucks. I really warn anyone who volunteers or supports this org at any capacity to look into where the finances are going. There is no growth. You will stay in the same role you were hired into and any opportunity for you to grow won't be readily welcomed, they rather hire out than actually support their staff. They are insane about in office work, if you're even 15 minutes late into the office you better have a good reason because you'll be in trouble for it or at the very least shamed/made to feel uncomfortable. They do not have a survivor voice on the board or on the team. The main leader barely supports survivors truly I don't think he even knows what all the org actively did to help them. We had team members that had to be sneaky about work they were doing to support survivors because it was known that the main leader didn't want loads of funds going to that department.
