Wrongful Termination

Pros

Coworkers were great. I no longer work there.

Cons

Just like everyone else, the pay was terrible. I was fired for allegedly being on my cellphone and being told not to be. This was entirely untrue. I was written up and when I refused to sign due to misleading and untrue statements by NDT management, they fired me. I was brought before HR and they treated me like I was a criminal under investigation. I pleaded my case and told them I wouldn't just sign a reprimand knowing management was being...untruthful...about what had happened. They tried putting words in my mouth and made several false accusations. I was backed into a corner. I was livid and completely flabbergasted but what was transpiring. I should also state that this manager was hired because he knew part of the management within NDT prior. I can see no other reason for him getting that position due to his total incompetence other than that being a possible regular practice for Exotic Metals. DO NOT work for this company. There are much better options out there! * Thankfully I now work for myself as an Independent contractor in Real Estate media and am very happy.

Pros

Pleasant co-working experience with operators and welders

Cons

Compared to the rest of the aerospace industry: -Poor pay -Toxic Management -Poor benefits -Significant "subtle" sexism that isn't very subtle -Management encourages cattiness and drama -Cult-like attitude to never discuss the downsides of the company -Questionable quality standards in exchange for speed/reduced cost for production -Bizarre attitude that it's ok for the company to significantly underpay its workers because they have a "family" culture

It’s unfortunate your experience at Exotic was negative. However, our culture here does not at all support the situations you have described, including sexism and drama. All staff attend mandatory harassment training and our management staff attend additional training as well. We have zero tolerance for this behavior and encourage employees to speak to HR if they feel this is happening and a formal investigation can occur. Wages and benefits are not simple. However, through continuous market research of our long-term options, we have been able to offer the best possible benefits package as a whole to our employees. We offer competitive long-term wages and benefits as well as unique benefits such as profit sharing, as well as 401(k) matching, and tuition reimbursement. An HR representative would be happy to assist you in the break down of our benefits and compensation as well as discuss your experience while working at Exotic.

Salary/Engineer Perspective

Pros

For salary employees, it's a refreshing change to find a job where you're not expected to work 60 hours every week. Most salary employees work 40-45 hour weeks. Co-workers are very good as well, most are hard working and care about doing a good job. Profit sharing every 6 months can be nice, but fluctuates significantly. Company is rapidly growing, so unless you're incompetent you'll have good job security.

Cons

Mixed leadership, generally low pay for industry/area, mediocre payed leave, if you're not working on something new there'll be little/no support As a whole the company is running forward too fast to look behind and see or address what's being missed, and its started to catch up with them.
