Very slow and limited career growth and sense of glass ceiling. Middle management not as competent as CEO. Many people leave because of culture and management think it's fine.

As a company that develops drugs, there is an expected level of challenge and stress that staff must expect to overcome. Performance appraisals may be stressful as A*STAR uses a bell curve to rank performance, meaning that there will inevitably be some staff that may end up on the bottom end of the spectrum.
