Pros

Some great professionals and people, and you will learn quite a bit there. Free snacks in the office prior to COVID. The agency seems to be doing well, and has quite a bit of recognition for its size.

Cons

While the agency is doing well, day-to-day life is not great. They really tout the work-life balance thing as an inherent part of the culture, but that is an outright lie. The pay for multiple former employees was below par, and attempts to get a raise were mostly shot down. Communication is not as effective as it should be, and that is paramount in a fast-paced digital agency. Because of that, large and complex changes to the work tend to come last minute, with little to no notice ahead of time. Occasional occurrences of last minute changes are to be expected, but when it is on nearly every project, it really wears on an employee. We all know agency work can be a grind, but Exverus seems intent on keeping employee noses to the grindstone until they burn out and are replaced by the next person buying into the shiny awards...which have no affect on the individual's actual day-to-day. This place is not a step up from your old agency. This is not your dream job. Hold out for something better.

Thank you for your positive feedback on the learning environment and our team! Unfortunately this employee started two weeks before COVID-19. During this challenging time, the agency's focus was on keeping everyone's job intact, which we were able to do. However this led to longer hours than we are accustomed to and a temporary freeze in pay as we dealt with this unprecedented situation. The good news is that we came out of COVID stronger than ever, with new open roles to increase our team size by 25% and total employee compensation up 32%. We continue to have multiple past employees apply for our open roles and love all of our Exverus alumni! While we are sorry you will not be here to share in this, we genuinely wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Pros

The people are nice. WFH unless you are located in the LA area (once a week in the office).

Cons

Behind the smiles, the company culture is toxic. Lots of mistakes are made, even though the campaigns are basic. There’s a culture of doing whatever the client says, even if it’s ultimately not in the clients best interests and then internally pushing blame onto each other. Teams are understaffed. The turnover rate is high, unless you are a white male. Not sure how Exverus win awards, but the entire agency is built on a house of cards.

Thank you for your review and we are very sorry it did not work out for you at Exverus. We are fortunate to have a workforce that is female-majority and majority minority and/or LGBTQIA+. This reflects our current leadership team, which is 80% non white male. We also grew the team 25% this year, had an industry best 7% turnover rate in 2022 and deeply care about each of our employees and alumni. We wish you the best of luck!
