Layoffs and reorganizations can be sudden, leading to significant gaps that aren't addressed until deadlines are missed. Back office roles get eliminated then re-created without explanation. (In the past five years EyeMed laid off people in HR, training, legal, operations, proposals, marketing, IT, data analysis, reporting, compliance, and project management - then had to rebuild those departments.)

Luxottica's corporate and retail leadership have no understanding of EyeMed's working model or the demands of the industry in which it participates causing insufferable bureaucracy which hinders EyeMed's performance. The president of EyeMed has nurtured a culture of favoritism from the top down, replacing leadership with "in crowd" associations.
