Pros

There are some really good people at F&G - some of the best co-workers ever. But that's not enough to overcome all the other negatives.

Cons

The entire company changed with the new leadership team and new structure. Everything that made F&G's culture so special has gone away. The "family" everyone likes to talk about is gone. Leadership does not care about people. I've literally heard a leader say "just fire them then" when faced with an employee asking difficult questions.

Benefits; low cost and amazing

Cons

One of the most hostile work environment I have ever been privy to. Inefficient processes, managers with little to no experience and with an inability to work with subordinates in a professional fashion. Corporate Management are completely unaware - of this specific department- and lack the desire to put forth any effort to updating systems or processes. The customer service expectation is so far below par it has made me terrified to ever invest should my beneficiaries be treated poorly or not even paid according to my wishes due to a companies poor training. The HR department is extraordinarily corrupt, confidentiality does not exist in this company.

Therefore, executive management is very aware of all areas and departments. It should be mentioned that specific positive changes including increased management focus and improved processes have been implemented in the Claims area over the past few months yielding positive results. Our senior leadership team values transparency and provides a number of mediums for two-way employee communication. Employee questions or concerns, and feedback is always welcome and taken seriously at Fidelity & Guaranty Life.
