Pros

Within the confines of the available hours, you have flexibility with your schedule. Work from home. Very few occasions with someone watching over your shoulder. Hard to say what the employment status is, since you are paid by the assignment.

Cons

Even though you are W2, there are no bennies. Auto comp is below unacceptable. Thirty cents per mile discounting the first 15 from site to site and nothing for the home trip. (If each trip is 14 miles point to point, you get nothing for the day. Even though you may drive 100 miles total) My average pay including drive time was $ 1.21 per hour. You are contracted out to another company, so the daily assignments are dependent upon the whims of that company. No hands on training (But to be fair, that is how the industry is trending now).

We appreciate your input although we don't agree with all of your statements. Please do know that our pay models have changed and our benefits have improved substantially. But we do appreciate you taking the time to review our company.

Pros

Worked as a field tech, contracted out to world-wide tech services. Received full access to proprietary training for dell, ibm, hp, lenovo etc. work itself was of minimal difficulty, and reasonable pay, $25 per job +18/hr for long times on site, and decent travel compensation

Cons

If you are in a rural area, be ready for highly inconsistent workload. I'd go 4-5 days without a job, suddenly to find myself with 4 or more jobs on a single day. More than half of my work was assigned outside of my originally agreed upon 50 mile radius, and some people who did work in the same area came from even farther away. I was expecting 2-4 hours of work on a daily basis, something that could be paired with another, hourly part time job. However, the jobs going long distance would often consume 6-7 hours on their own

Corporate must stop the greed. In order to succeed, you must pay your technicians. We are in the United States of America and the year is 2013.

Cons

!!!Congradulation!!! you have been paid $2.70 per hour of work as an educated computer hardware technician specialist
