      Great potential but falls short...

      Pros

      Competitive benefits including a strong incentive payout at the end of the year and retirement fund employer matches. The organization attracts talent and professionals. Very modern building with comfortable work spaces - although some relies heavily on cubicle culture which allows for little privacy and significant background interference (may depend on department).

      Cons

      Very siloed and corporate culture. Occasional hot heads with short tempers. Benefit package is good but not very forward thinking. Exempt employees may work a lot of overtime with little recognition.

      Pros

      Great bonus and benefits, easy commute.

      Cons

      Poor work life balance as bonus based on meeting team goals that were not always achievable. Bonus incentives lead to poor management decisions (quick improvement in the bottom line without full consideration of the risks). Manager more interested in "face time" (working late) and politics without regard for the actual number of hours worked. HR department very unprofessional.

      FHLBank Topeka pays well and the benefits are good. Annual bonus is available for all employees. Stable work environment.

      Cons

      Lack of upward mobility. Culture of valuing tenure versus prior work experience. Management can be slow to adapt to technology advances.
