Pros

The only real benefit of working here is getting your foot in the door of the industry. If you're just starting out and need experience, this place can serve that purpose. There used to be a lot of perks but those days are long gone. Some of the most impactful benefits no longer exist even if they are still listed on the company site.

Cons

The workplace culture is deeply problematic, marked by rampant favoritism and tight-knit cliques that make it difficult for others to succeed. Management is secretive and blatantly two-faced, gaslighting employees over management's own mistakes and poor company strategy. They have created a toxic environment where merit takes a backseat to office politics. What makes it worse is how bullying claims have been dismissed with laughter by C-level behind closed doors, while HR turns a blind eye to mistreatment they've witnessed firsthand. The company operates on a backwards reward system. While there are employees who do valuable work fixing unforeseen disasters, there are those who are praised and rewarded for putting out self-made fires. The ones who work proactively to prevent issues and maintain stability are trashed for the efforts and overlooked. Career development is essentially nonexistent. While they've implemented a progression system on paper, it's nothing more than window dressing - they simply don't follow it. Unless you're gunning for a management position, don't expect any meaningful advancement opportunities or chances to expand your skill set. The focus is entirely on grinding out work rather than working intelligently or efficiently. Compensation is another major issue. Don't expect raises or any form of financial recognition for your contributions. These are saved for the close clique of leaders who keep on inventing higher titles for themselves even when the company is bleeding. Bottom Line: If you're desperate for industry experience, this company can serve as a temporary solution. Stay for 1-2 years max, build your resume, and then move on to an organization that actually values professional skills and development, and maintains a healthy work environment. There's simply no future here beyond that - unless you're content with a workplace that values neither efficiency nor genuine professional growth. WARNING TO POTENTIAL RELOCATORS: Think very carefully before relocating to the headquarters in Oulu. The Helsinki side-office is the only location worth considering as the local job market there offers more opportunities. If you're planning to join the main office, be aware that the region has extremely limited industry options.

Pros

Employees are very well taken care of, with the best possible tools and support to do their jobs. The culture is very laid back, informal and low hierarchy. The company has interesting projects in development, and there's always something exciting going on. Fingersoft supports achieving work-life balance in many ways, for which I'm thankful.

Cons

Some processes could be clearer but this is improving all the time.
