Pros

*Very possible to move up or around in company if you're able to withstand the constant changes *A lot of good people in the company *Easy to make an individual impact and many initiatives are employee driven *Leadership tries to keep pulse on employees with surveys and are easy to get access to *Some perks like summer hours for whole company or trips for individual contributors who exceed expectations

Cons

*Very high attrition and turnover. It makes individual success possible because there are always open positions or people leaving. You could hear managers pleading for help on calls. *Lack of experienced employees. A couple years ago you could find employees who had been at the company 10, 15, 20+ years. Now you're lucky if you work with someone who's been at the company over 5 years. *Slow backfills *Work/life balance. Many of the technical departments are overworked and spread too thin, forced to log hours on weekends or at nights. Support, IT are frequently slow to fill requests, often because the ratio of their work to the employees they have is incredibly unbalanced or they have a lack of knowledge due to newness. *Lack of structured training or onboarding. New employees may get sent some incomplete, outdated documentation before being pulled into calls to shadow if they're lucky, otherwise they may be thrown right into the fire. *General lack of knowledge of the product at every level *Product is outdated, buggy, difficult to learn functionally and technically *Product roadmap constantly in flux and being altered by influence from nontechnical persons or departments *Leadership constantly changing making it hard to establish relationships and rapport. More common to have multiple managers in a calendar year than it is to have the same one in some departments. *Complete lack of development paths. Job descriptions, employee performance metrics, expectations all lack. Promotions are often entirely subjective and expectations shift as managers move around or leave. *Benefits leave much to be desired *Sr Leadership decisions seem to lean more and more in favor of profitability and finance, and less in favor of employee experience and practical matters *Lack of diversity and diversity initiatives sputter out. If I recall correctly, there isn't one person of color or minority in a leadership position. *Sales department makes commitments and promises to customers it can't deliver on and forces other departments to fall on the sword or completely change course to accommodate them

Pros

The CEO is a fairly nice, bright guy and the company that owns FMS seems to be willing to spend money. FMS's partners also seem to do the majority of the selling and configuration of the application.

Cons

The tech is ancient, the mentality is ancient, and some of the workers on the tech side are downright deplorable. There is a lot of rampant favoritism, sexism, and immaturity in the work force on the tech side. For a company this small, there is also a lot of turn over. While at FMS I witnessed 5 people leave and 4 get fired. The people who got fired all seemed to be due to some immature office politics. 9 people leaving in a company of less than 100 is kind of crazy. On the HR side of things, the benefits are pretty mediocre and extremely expensive. Unlimited PTO is really "unlimited" because they know you can never take very much (book a week of being off and you're made to feel awful for even taking it) and so that when you leave or they fire you they don't have to pay out PTO (remember that high turn over rate?).
