Nice people but bad bosses

Pros

Very nice people who are easy to talk to; easy to impress (they're amazed when you do it well which is funny because it's the easiest job on the planet)

Cons

People are very cliquey; I witnessed a lot of bullying of certain people; a few racist/ignorant comments made towards me about my ethnicity by a partner; very low pay; they expect you to make it your life as if that job is very important when it really isn't

We pride ourselves on an inclusive workplace and do not tolerate bigotry, harassment or insensitivity in any form. This does not represent our culture, and is the first we’re hearing of any such behavior which would result in immediate remedial action.

Worst Employee Treatment

Pros

If you are looking to break into the political industry, this may be a decent route to make some connections. I would only stay for a few months and get out. Young employees beware that this company will give you between zero and a few benefits (for example, no 401K), severely under compensate you, and expect you to work around the clock. They negotiate for a living, and they will give you nothing.

Cons

This place is toxic, a "boys' club." Horrible culture. The turnover is extremely high. Upper management's motive is clear: get the youngest kids in who are willing to work a ton for as cheap as possible.

Pros

There are a lot of snacks

Cons

The management is micromanaging. They don’t pay well. They are hiding a sexual predator. They are racist. Horrible work life balance.
