You’re selling to teens working at Panera Bread and clothing stores that can’t even afford your product. Personally, I have better things to do than walk in the cold and approach random strangers. I asked several times what this position would entail during my two interviews (both which were maybe 10 mins long- red flag) and they brushed it off and kept showing me steps of a “management program” that probably doesn’t exist. Really glad I worked 8-6 on a day of shadowing just to contribute to the company and receive nothing in return. This company must burn through 20 workers every month that they are desperate enough for you to earn them money on a shadow day haha. After unknowingly being employed for a “highly demanded” position (sarcasm), I decided never to show up at that office again. Ways to tell a Marketing scam: -when they use the term “direct marketing” -“face to face client interaction” -“field work” -talk about how flexible the role is -they email you immediately after you apply for an interview -if you don’t respond they call you -they put in the email that they have only 2 final days of interviewing -when you walk into the interview, there are at least 10 other people arriving, 10 people waiting, and 10 people leaving that are prospectives -the office is shared with several different companies -the position your interviewing for isn’t what you applied for online -they talk about growth in the company & are vague about your daily responsibilities when you ask -they give you a layout of a BS “‘management training program” -they bring you in for another interview the next day and don’t layout the interview plan -somehow you’re doing “field work” for a job you never accepted and it’s way before your requested start date -you get offered the job when you’re desperately trying not to after your first week of “field work”
