Pros

Growth of the charity has allowed for additional roles within teams. New brand guidelines, visual identity, and messaging have helped drive the new website and bring the brand awareness to a new level. Increase in policies but lack of follow through in implementation or education about these policies. Embraces remote working for head office and management roles.

Cons

Lack of training for managers resulting in some teams struggling to establish psychologically safe environments. Micromanaging staff within teams which prevents employees from feeling their contributions are valued. Forward progression in certain teams is nonexistent. Upper management/directorate have little to no interaction with subordinates. Certain teams have a high turnover rate due to poor management and lack of opportunity. Frequent mention of 5 key values but “head office” roles are rarely acknowledged for their success or accomplishments and upholding of these values. HR does not support employee concerns and the process of reporting concerns and/or issues is not clear or easy.
