Fake fun and untrustworthy

Pros

Fantastic team to work with.

Cons

No real management direction. Lots of redundancies with little or no notice. The company pretends to be “fun” but is actually not. Wages are poor and development or training is non existent . Senior staff bully junior staff and workloads are crazy. Line managers are promoted because they are good at their job rather than being good managers.

Great social events to get to know the rest of the teams better Travel across the country to clients and the other offices Consistently evolving to learn more and offer more to our clients Access to experts to learn more personally and professionally Opportunities to progress are widely available Access to the board who are frequently around and available to ask questions and get to know personally too

Cons

As in any agency the days can be long and the work is fast paced and demanding but the people inside and outside of the company make it worth it.

Pros

Nice Lancaster office with a drinks fridge.

Cons

Fat media took over Reading Room around about 6 and made a load of redundancies in secret - and also made us work our notice but keeping the fact we were being made redundant to our colleagues! The CEO is an incredibly rude and insensitive person who almost teased us before making us redundant by saying he is being watched and we need to prove our selves like we were new started, keep in mind we have all worked here for over 5 years. He also didn't have the decency or the backbone to come and do it himself... Other then that - other things I gathered from fat media is there technical team lacked substance massively which is really uncommon in any digital agency - usually the first positive thing is the tech team but not in this case. No standards No code quality reviews No ambition Old ways of working Poor leadership PURE BOTCHERS CEO put you on the spot in front of people all the time to almost try and shame you. Ultimately a bad company to work for.
