Pros

First American is one of the top underwriters in the country offering job stability together with working with top professionals in the title industry.

Cons

First American has grown to offer an immense consolidation of products and services. Some people would prefer a less corporate atmosphere.

Pros

The company offers a relatively relaxed work environment with little micromanagement, which allows employees to manage their own workflow and take initiative. If you are entrepreneurial and proactive, there are opportunities to grow your income by generating your own business and building relationships with agents. The culture is generally professional and people are approachable. It can be a good place for someone who values independence and is comfortable creating their own momentum.

Cons

Compensation and career progression can be slow. In my experience, raises and formal promotions are limited even after several years of tenure. Employees are often asked to take on multiple responsibilities across different roles, which can lead to an overloaded workload. The company tends to rely on a small number of highly productive employees to handle a large portion of operational tasks.
