Pros

Interesting, meaningful work Great organizational mission and values - if only they would follow them Some amazing colleagues Opportunity to be innovative

Cons

Highly toxic environment with bullying, gas-lighting, long hours, no recognition, lots of petty politics, so much judgment, very unequal treatment across different employees with equivalent roles. Leadership does not follow the stated values of the organization in its treatment of its employees. HR reneges on commitments, makes you fight for what you are legally owed, and will kick you when your down. Sure, some people have a good experience, but if someone with power happens to be threatened by you or dislike you for some random reason, you will never have a chance. Leadership is fully aware of the bullying and toxic environment yet takes no measures to correct it.

Pros

The work with First Nations communities is rewarding

Cons

Provincial leadership knows nothing about community as they never travel to community. Make decisions top down. Gossip is rampant amongst provincial leadership, bullying and lateral violence. Friends hiring friends and negotiating salaries with friends. Provincial leadership is out of touch and as colonial as they can come.

Pros

Some good individuals in the mix

Cons

Very poor executive leadership leading to a chaotic and hostile work environment. Extremely political and very hard to get any meaningful change done. HR is upside down and finance is chaotic at best. Executive leadership is poor and doesn't follow it's own policies.
