Pros

You can wear jeans everyday

Cons

You don't actually do legal work Now they're calling the job 'healthcare attorney' which is a complete joke You sit on the phone all day and send close to 100 faxes per day asking recovery sources for money It's basically collections No room for growth Favoritism toward longtime employees Job duties change with the wind Everything is the attorneys fault Terrible file creation department They treat you like you're a child No flexibility in work hours They monitor employees on video They've lost about 15 attorneys in the past year! They write you up for almost anything including using the bathroom too long They track your hours to a T and even though you're salaried make you make the time up No changes have been made even after countless complaints to management

Pros

Good benefits and salary, routine hours (now the hours are flexible), bonus program and a casual environment. This is a good job for attorneys looking to leave litigation behind and have a routine schedule with great work/life balance. You get your own case load and the effort you put into the cases is what you get out of it. Don't listen to the gossip and you'll be just fine if you're willing to work!

Cons

There is a lot of work and the work is not always well organized. Some employees have bad attitudes or gossip - surprising from "professionals" This can create a negative environment (see prior posts) and the negative people blame management. The computer systems (subromax and the document management one) too often are slow or freeze so I can't be productive. I understand that there will be a new computer program so hopefully that will help. The office can be way too loud, or way too quiet, it depends. The temperature has gotten a lot better recently but I've been way too hot and way too cold, it depends. I don't have a lot of room to work and it can feel claustrophobic.

Pros

Very relaxed dress code. Extremely friendly coworkers. Great supervisor. Have not had much contact with upper management but seems like a rapidly growing company.

Cons

The work can be repetitive at times. It is quite an adjustment if you are coming from a litigation background.
