Remote work is only available to certain categories of employees, even if most of what you do CAN be done remotely. If you're not a category of employee the company wants to allow to work remotely, you will NOT be allowed, even on a hybrid basis.
A lot of fake friendliness that is revealed as fake very clearly when you give notice. People you've worked with for a long time and thought you had some kind of rapport with will react to you giving notice with "oh ok, just give your badge to HR, bye," which is just...cold, I guess. On the bright side, they pay out your PTO pretty promptly after you quit. Maybe I'm being a little bit oversensitive, but I guess I expected more than an "ok bye" when I gave notice...
