      Pros

      Physical plant improvements in recent years. Small-school atmosphere.

      Cons

      Mismanagement throughout most parts of the university. Growing expenditures on new administrative positions, many times at the expense of the quality of instruction. Favoritism and and a lack of professionalism are prevalent among some parts of management. This could be a great state university if a more forward-looking, professional team was leading the charge. Faculty and students are great for the most part, but the school feels too much like a small bubble.

      Pros

      The state provides good benefits which college employees enjoy. Rank and file employees are supportive and nice. Generous sick time and vacation time.

      Cons

      Senior management is harsh and difficult to work for. They do not train employees well. It is a sink or swim environment. It is also very cliquish. Either you are part of the team or you are not and if you are not, they let you know it. The college had a difficult year with getting programs approved. Instead of admitting their weaknesses, they blamed the system and people working in the school. It was sad.

      Pros

      Greatly improving physical plant under Bob Antonucci's leadership. So much improvement since he took office. Looking forward to improvement in both administration and work culture.

      Cons

      Confusing and disorganized administration. No training or department orientation upon hire; sink or swim culture in department. Bureaucratic process simply obtaining work-related supplies took up too much time; might be common in State colleges.
