Serious Management Problems

Pros

1- new fundraising. 2- good budget

Cons

After 4 sessions of the interview, they sent me the offer. Although I had offers from other companies I accepted theirs. after 2 months of visa procedure and acquiring a visa and booking a flight and house and quitting my previous job they terminated the contract without any logical reasons. they didn't let me at least land in Germany to have a chance to find another job and quickly inform the embassy about my termination. No one is responsive and does not care that they destroy all your plans. After an inquiry from some current employees, I figure out the company's work culture is a mess and they are leaving it just only after six months! so they told me you did not miss something special. do not get fooled by the fundraising and salaries of these small startups that do not have a say in the European market.

Pros

So far the company has been very successful and seems to have a great grasp on the market and also the need to pivot. English speaking. The pay is inline with what you'd now expect in Berlin, given the shortage of engineers. For a senior position you would expect between 70-85k euros.

Cons

I have never felt so mistreated, under valued as I have working at Flink as an Engineer. The work culture is beyond toxic, managers do not help, they bully. Teamwork is non existent due to everyone trying to 'prove' themselves. This can get really tiring, everyone really seems in it for themselves. I could give countless examples to which I have been pushed to breaking limit in terms of workload. Managers or Leadership seem to have been dropped into roles without actually having the skills to help/lead. I have experiences of managers swearing at employees and making personal vendettas and comments about other employees, "Stating I do not like them", and "I'm glad he/she is gone". Not really any benefits to entice engineers to stay at all.
