Promising career path overshadowed by poor management and turnover
Pros
There is definitely an element of "if you work hard enough, this could be a hugely successful career path" at Flock - which i think can be seen as a pro to the right person. I had a lot of great people to work with as well.
Cons
Management, strategic direction, turnover, product, communication... the list goes on. The product is pretty cool in concept, but the execution seems to be really missing the mark. This is a complex real estate investment product - yet the founder, and most of the team, have no experience in real estate. This is a tech startup, and things change fast and at the whim of the founder. In my first week on the job my boss (VP of sales) was fired, then replaced by the COO, who quit a few weeks later. My entire job description changed over night and I had a really terrible experience working with the remaining members of the team. The most frustrating part was definitely listening to empty promises from the founder and management. Day to day changes in operations and planning that would never make it to the finish line made it impossible to focus on work. There were around 30 employees at the company when i started, and i believe 6 were fired / quit within the first 3 months. EXTREMELY high turnover has continued since my time.
