Pros
Fairly laid back environment. Generally good people to work with. Solid benefits package. There is a private park that stretches along the business park that FCI maintains, which is a wonderful place to walk around at lunch and during breaks. Four day workweek (4X10hr) for most of the company. Upper management typically is willing to spend the money to give departments what they need to do the job right.
Cons
Not particularly high paying - toward the bottom of the barrel of a typical range. Most of the company is fairly segmented into groups, with very little information exchanged between groups. This doesn't do much for spreading knowledge amongst the company. 20-year veterans, rather than a good system, are what keeps the decades of accumulated knowledge alive, if at all. Overall technical skills are fairly low, and much of what the company does is fairly antiquated - many people have been there for a long time (especially management) and may not know how things are done elsewhere, even when times have changed. A good environment for someone looking for a slow moving 9-5, but for someone looking to advance or learn something, there's not much to pick from.
