Pros
- Challenging work - Typically very little micromanaging - Catered lunches sometimes - Launch of FOG-001 into clinical has probably provided renewed urgency and energy into the company environment
Cons
- Unrealistic work pace - Inflexible management - Cliquey, difficult to interact with groups you are siloed from - Some managers are excellent, most are unhelpful - Easy to stand out and rise up, but must be willing to sink 50-60h weekly - You will work weekends - No mentorship opportunities, the pace and volume of work precludes any real career development - No real work culture, just Steve Jobs quote cutouts - Was not uncommon to hear people crying at their desks after interacting with their manager, a very grim environment, dismal, distressing, and algid - Presenting work can sometimes be met with severe criticism, dogpiling, etc. which borders on the line of professionalism - Very difficult to remain motivated
