Difficult to find career growth in a sales company
Pros
My manager was the sole reason I stayed as long as I did, she did great at supporting me as well as the rest of the marketing team. (Such as letting me dive into a new skill, tried hard to find projects for me to be engaged.) Her work ethic is outstanding and inspiring, is very attentive to her teams' emotions and needs which is why it was very hard to depart from the company. Future designers, the work was pretty cut and dry for the most part, you aren't solving outrageous problems in the call center world, so you have a good work/life balance in comparison to an actual product-focused startup.
Cons
The main reason I was not a fit was that the work is really repetitive and unengaging after tackling a massive milestone like a company rebrand. They hired me with one task in mind and after completing it, it was a struggle to find meaningful projects to work on and advance my design career with. With the sales team having the largest headcount, most company goals are aligned to sales and not product development. This also causes other teams to be de-prioritized, but the expectation for marketing/engineering/support to show up for sales still stands.
