Pros

If you have a family and you befriend management this is the spot for you. Decent company health insurance, pension plan match and vacation plan. Some colleagues are really nice, skilled and want to stay, to grow and to retire in this company. Therefor they give their very best.

Cons

Your skills won’t get you market price salary, even less growth career and salary even more if you are a newcomer or a minority. So try to “ socialize” and be a buddy of someone high up there or be a child of one of the upper management you will join the club of some well paid, fast career growth employees. For new graduates the managers might not be the technical expert mentor you need under the new management Management is just pay to boss around but very few are knowledgeable in their field. HR is paid to protect the company so no name employees can’t expect much from the HR. your options are often to suffer in your corner or leave. The open door communication policies, the history of the company beginning and other company events have been just for marketing for years now.

Pros

The team I was working with, all wonderful people

Cons

Lack of clear objectives If you challenged a decision, you were penalised If you aren't a 'favourite' with senior managers, your role is made harder No clearly defined ways of working Adverse to change and new ideas Expectation to be happy all the time, if you aren't, you are making the company look like employees are unhappy Everyone is overworked and the expectation is for you to work longer hours, for management, no overtime for this. If employed on a hybrid basis, made to feel you should be at the office full time Senior managers hired due to length of service instead of skills required for the role Micro management is rife No clear understanding of how people work differently, expectation is to work in the same way as senior managers Often pressured to do work outside of job description, if you dont, you are seen as a non team player Lack of benefits Severely understaffed and reluctant to recruit, pay terrible considering location of the office No clear training path for new starters, manager expected to deliver this without any set programme If you work here, agree with what senior management say or you'll end up having your job terminated, just for working differently. Very clear who senior management liked/ didn't like Very toxic and pressurised environment due to senior management not fully understanding the roles of the different customer service teams
