Pros
-This school has an interesting concept and mission, to provide a focused and specialized educational experience to students who learn differently. -Current community of teachers seems to be forged in fire. An incredibly resilient group. -Students are bright and creative. Challenging in the best way. -Campus is beautiful and well-maintained.
Cons
-New Head of School began in the 24-25 school year. This feedback is based on the current administration. -The mission of the school is now sacrificed at the expense of student enrollment and retention. Academic rigor falls to the bottom every time. Administration is focused on student retention to the detriment of all community members. This makes the teaching and dorm life experience incredibly difficult. -School policies are changed and announced on a whim, with poor research and execution, only to be reversed or abandoned shortly thereafter. -The school simply does not deliver on promises of support to staff or students. Administration does not appear to know how to course correct. -Administration is top-heavy, with an inability to meaningfully connect with the teaching staff and students. Unqualified, unprepared people are pushed up the ranks. -Staff retention is highly concerning. Why can't they keep new or long-term employees? Turnover is much higher than at other schools I have experienced. As a positive, employees have a high chance of being promoted to administration! -Most concerning, there is obvious favoritism and a fear of retaliation from top administrators among the staff.
