Pros

I got a little money. Most coworkers were nice.

Cons

You get paid minimum wage. All the "comissions" are really hard to get, employees see them rarely. You are expected to drive all over town all day and you are not compensated for gas. You are also expected to use a lot of data and memory on your phone. The services we were offering were also pretty poor, so there were unpleasant experiences trying to recommend them. You are also expected to go pitch in malls and department stores even though you are not supposed to do that, so you are constantly on the lookout for security. People get very upset sometimes and it is highly highly stressful.

Thank you for posting your feedback. While no company enjoys reading posts like this, we are appreciative of the opportunity to respond. Both positive and constructive feedback give us the opportunity to address and adjust. Also, at Formosi we take pride in knowing that we actually pay every employee above the minimum wage mark for the state of CA, and we have a built in allowance for gas and cell phone usage. Our office is growing and full of smart dedicated people who believe that Formosi is a great place to work. Sales can certainly be a competitive environment but we work hard to create transparency, fairness, and support within our team. Although it appears that you are no longer an employee, I do want to encourage anyone who has constructive feedback to check in with the HR team.

Pros

A fancy looking office Nothing

Cons

You get to look ridiculous running around places that clearly state “NO SOLICITING,” like Target, Costco, Starbucks, parking lots & everything in between. All girl staff (except for the CEO) and by “girl” I do mean young & unprofessional looking, going to the gym attire, no makeup and hair not even done (yet you’re selling those services so you may want to look the part too). They pry for information to gossip on no matter how much you deter the conversation. Running around in tennis shoes and lying to women about “how great their hair and/or skin looks” to make a buck not only looks ridiculous, but is laughable - especially when you can’t even dress like an employee. I’m so pleased to see the turnovers every two weeks in this “gossiping marathon in tennis shoes” they call a “job.” Employees, upon being hired, are told to write positive reviews on here...don’t be fooled, nothing about this company is ethical! Sending girls of barely 18 years of age to hound women at places that can, and will arrest you for soliciting is not a “job.” You do that at my now great career, I will call the police. It’s illegal for a reason. Oh, and jealousy doesn’t look good on you girls; junior high gossip and snares only make you, the company and everyone around you look ridiculous. Your second interview you are going to run around the location you are told to drive through with a girl that doesn’t even tell you about the “promotion” she’s selling so you’ll get blindsided, but she won’t relay that back to the CEO (no matter how much she “loves” your energy). Waste of time, gas, and sanity.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review about working within the sales team at Formosi. While no company enjoys reading posts like this, we are appreciative of the opportunity to respond. It’s disappointing for us to read that you didn’t have a clear understanding of the position. A hiring process a Formosi is very intensive. It can take between three days to a month. All potential employees, dependent on the department they are applying for, participate in a scheduled interview where the process could take up to four hours. During this extensive interview process potential employees get to experience the job first hand. Formosi’s dress code for all employees is quite upscale. This does include business casual and athleisure, due to fact we are representing beauty and wellness. We do encourage our employees as well as anyone who has had an experience with Formosi to share their experience by writing a review. Therefore, none of the positive ratings on GlassDoor are fake or falsely generated by the company. We strive to create collaborative and comfortable environments where our teams can easily focus on doing their best work. Sales can certainly be an ambitious environment but we work hard to create transparency and fairness within our teams. You always have the freedom on where and how to sell, this is what makes Formosi a great place to work. Working for a company for a few short days is not enough time to understand counter and clientele relationship development, network with industry professionals, experience epic company events, visit local businesses, participate in public relations, develop essential team building skills with colleges, or contribute to company sales. I’m sorry to hear that your short experience here at Formosi did not align with your dreams, goals, and desires and I hope you provided specific feedback to your manager and HR before you left so we can address your concerns.

Pros

I cant think of any good thing to talk about this company

Cons

Do no trust or buy the products of this company! They dont work! They are the worst at communication with their staff. They sent ask to different locations to sell inside different stores even if we are not allowed. They do not care about their staff safety. It was a scary experience being kicked out of different store just to sell a product that dont work and for very very little compensation.

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review about working within the sales team at Formosi. While no company enjoys reading posts like this, we are appreciative of the opportunity to respond. Formosi is a marketing agency that represents beauty and wellness professionals by helping grow their businesses. Formosi does not sell products. We run advertising campaigns through word of mouth marketing. Employee safety is important to us and it’s disconcerting to hear that you ever felt scared while at work. As part of our safety protocol, we hold a morning meeting every work day to go over questions and concerns from our employees. We believe in open lines of communication for all of our employees. Throughout the day we require sales representatives to check in with a sales manager to report how the day is going and to ask for any guidance to challenges faced. Sales can certainly be an ambitious environment and here at Formosi we work hard to create transparency through a three step hiring process. All sales candidates get to shadow a sales representative so they know exactly what the job entails and can experience the job first hand. No employee is brought on without first going through our extensive interview process. We hope you provided specific feedback to your manager and HR before you left so we could address your concerns. At Formosi, we strive to create a fun and winning atmosphere for all of our employees.
