Pros
The brand - sadly, that's all it is, just a brand. Use it, get what you need out of it and then leave as soon as you can before your mental health suffers to the point of no return. Fast paced environment - things move quickly, which provides for an exciting job opportunity.
Cons
If you speak your mind, you'll be noted down as a troublemaker. If you don't fit into the mould that they want, they will do what they can to strip you of your personality. If you don't like it or share your concerns about the business? You're told you're lucky to have this opportunity, told where the door is and how many people are waiting in line for your job. If you've got honest conversations that you want to have with colleagues who share your concerns, be careful, you'll then be accused of gossiping. Oh and there's a habit of making people disappear. Toxic behaviour is rewarded and that's the way to get ahead in this business. Despite knowing about bullying, senior management choose to ignore it and promote these people. Mental health support? Non-existent. Despite being the cause of mental health issues through bullying and gaslighting, mental health issues are seen as your problem not theirs. Instead of addressing the issues, you are told you need to be resilient to work there. Diversity is seen as a tickbox exercise. There is no buy-in from senior management and less than 10% of my team were from an ethnic background. Stale senior management - glass ceiling and no progression means a revolving door for junior members of the team. No progression and favouritism amongst the team - you are told there is no progression but a carrot is dangled about a potential opportunity to make you work harder. Despite proving yourself, ultimately, there is nothing for you. Opportunities are not given equally and there is clear favouritism, which unsurprisingly aligns with gender. Overall, if you enjoy indoctrination and a toxic workplace, join the business. It would be the perfect place for you.
