Administrators lie to teachers. I have never in my entire career spanning two states been lied to by an administrator and caught him or her in the lie. I mean I have been lied to straight to my face and the lie continued for over a month. The admin team could have cared less about how their actions affected me as a human or a teacher. I have been rated a highly effective and effective teacher for all of my teaching years. The cliques among teacher groups that control the school are horrible, they decide who stays and who goes. You are unable to ask questions and that old rule, "Keep your mouth shut in meetings holds true." If you ask too many questions or questions the clique feels you should not ask they cast you out. I thought I was hired to teach middle school, yet I work with adults who act like middle school students.
Class sizes are too large! Money is not spent on teaching positions and it is evident in the overcrowding in the classes. Technology is old and in need of compatible updates. You will not have one to one computers available to your students on a regular basis.
