Toxic from the Top Down A Disappointing Experience

It’s difficult to pinpoint any true positives from my time at Fortra. The one potential upside might be the experience of working with a few talented individuals though even they were often stifled by the environment. If nothing else, it was a learning experience in how not to run a workplace and the importance of a supportive, transparent culture.

Unfortunately, my experience at Fortra was marked by a toxic culture that seemed to be ignored, if not enabled, by senior leadership. There was a clear lack of genuine care from management, and concerns raised by staff were often brushed aside or met with indifference. Communication was poor and morale was even worse. The environment was driven by micromanagement, finger-pointing, and fear rather than collaboration or innovation. It often felt like success was measured by appearances rather than actual outcomes, and there was little room to grow unless you were part of the inner circle. Overall, it was a deeply disappointing experience that I wouldn’t recommend to others seeking a healthy or supportive workplace.
