      Family orientated company taken over by corporate and cold company

      Pros

      Family orientated company at Foseco, but is changing to become cold, corporate and very bureaucratic (Vesuvius) due to the takeover years ago. you can go very far with a degree as degrees are viewed very highly here.

      Cons

      Us vs them mentality. Vesuvius which is a very ancient, cold and bureaucratic company had taken over Foseco, a very family orientated, warm and welcoming company.

      Stable business that looks large on the outside

      Cons

      Politics and bureaucracy is ridiculous, the company looks big on the outside, but the subsidiaries of Vesuvius is stripped bare and skeletal on the inside. pay rises are rare.

      Great people to work with. Dedicated and long serving. Standard policies with regard to time off. Easy to talk across work divisions as most are focused on bettering the company

      Cons

      Minimal group opportunity unless you know people in the right place. Mostly European focused and a shift toward automotive background personnel in leadership positions
