Pros

I agree that with another recent review that some older reviews seem outdated: the work is not at all like consulting. We are making a startup and doing the work that's needed on short and long-term horizons Talking to some longer tenured staff it seems like partnership projects before we launched startups (from the successful projects) had more work in them like consulting when we liaised with partners. I think the CEOs (Ned/Jim) care about making the kind of workplace they'd want to have worked for at our age. Mistakes come from them being twice the age of most staff. * Colleagues are smart and helpful. Great atmosphere * Flexible wfh * Lead Data Scientist / Software Engineer are thoughtful about their teams and products. * You get a lot of responsibility and control over work (also a potential downside)

Cons

Stock options are a gamble. If the startups don't get sold then we "only" get a six-figure salary.

Pros

Comments are Curia-specific (except for comp, culture, leadership) * Nice and knowledgeable coworkers * Modern stack * High ownership * One founder who is non-technical but seems to genuinely care about feedback.

Cons

* Other negative reviews still mostly true. * One founder/CEO who is technical but is inaccessible and seems to have little interest in feedback. * High attrition. * Low compensation. * Lack of visibility into execs. * Weak culture. * Strong consultant influence. As title suggests, do not get roped in by AI buzzword. Do due diligence on founders, company numbers, employees, etc. To some extent cons (and pros) are inherit to early stage startups. Still, there are better options, especially for new grads.
