Pros

Really amazing staff given the stuff we all have to put up with everyone has a fantastic personality and great senses of humour. Good discount, access to lots of free books.

Cons

Continuously poor communication. Information given in interview turned out to be lies. Pay check has been low twice due to hours not being reported. Hours cut with no warning. This job has given me more anxiety than any customer service role I’ve had in my working life.

Unsocial hours, zero flexibility (although you are asked to be flexible yourself about your rota, tasks, etc…), very low pay (not a pay rise other than legally required ones in 3 years, very little holidays, toxic culture, very little women promoted

If you love books and other like-minded readers!

Cons

We had several quite dangerous incidents, once where my personal effects were stolen and also being confronted with dangerous individuals. There was a lack of follow up or care from the higher up - they made no changes after these incidents. We were constantly left on our own with no backup on the floor.
