      Family-like environment, for good and for bad

      Pros

      I actually applied because of the family-like feel of this place. It is small and many of the people working there have been there for over a decade. I had been shopping there for a while and many of the employees knew me.

      Cons

      Communication was ineffective and problematic. When problems occurred because expectations weren't clearly communicated, blame was placed on me. The biggest problem I experienced was that I was threatened with not getting paid for shifts I had already worked. I was fully paid but I felt the use of that as a threat was inappropriate and unprofessional.

      Decent employer but not as good as Whole Foods

      The pay really should be more in line with what Whole Foods provides employees. They play the same 20 or so songs in the background of the store over and over and over and over and over....

      Meeting and working with great people within the 4 walls of the store.

      Cons

      50+ hours a week No lunch breaks No Christmas Bonus (everyone else in store received one) Department Manager's make more money than ASM's Extended Holiday Hours=ASM woking 60+ work week Managing maybe 20% of the time. Promised that ASM salary would be reviewed after all other hourly positions were raised, but no mention after 6 months of that happening resulting in being at the industry lowest rate for position.
